Manager/Supervisor

We’re looking for a Restaurant Manager for our Mexican restaurant, El Catrin!

The Distillery Restaurant Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas and Distillery Events are looking for experienced candidates with outstanding food & beverage knowledge, solid business acumen, and a drive to deliver results and bring people together.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.
This position is currently vacant, and we are recruiting for a candidate to join us within the next four weeks.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support overall operations of the restaurant with clarity, consistency, fairness and integrity.
  • Create genuine touchpoints with guests and colleagues, building loyalty with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform cash and inventory reconciliation and order supplies as necessary.
  • Liaise, as required, with Culinary, Customer Service, Marketing, Human Resources, Payroll, and Executive Leadership.
  • Maintain and contribute to a culture founded in dignity, mutual respect and passion for all things food and beverage.
  • Deliver feedback in a kind and professional manner, looking for moments to offer praise as well as constructive criticism.
  • Attend weekly manager meetings.
  • Hold daily shift briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you'll bring to the restaurant:

  • EXPERIENCE. We're looking for a candidate with years of progressive experience within the hospitality industry, preferably a fast-paced restaurant environment.  You must have restaurant experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of business operations are considered an asset. 
    PASSION. You're a true leader who aims to drive your team toward new heights and greater successes.
  • CERTIFICATIONS. While you're required to be Smart Serve certified, any other certifications related to mixology and spirits are highly valued.  
    ADAPTABILITY. You can work in fast-paced, changing environments with ease. 
  • SOLUTION-ORIENTED. You're a strong problem solver with an insatiable desire to positively impact the experience of our guests, employees and restaurant reviews.
    EDUCATION. A business, hospitality or food and beverage management degree/diploma, or the equivalent in education and experience, is considered an asset.
