Chef De Partie (seasonal)
The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas and Distillery Events is actively seeking passionate and experienced CHEFS DE PARTIE to join us for the run of the Winter Village in serveral of our restaurants! The ideal candidates not only understand that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto's unique food and beverage culture.
These roles are available now until January 2026.

What you'll be doing:
- Maintaining established standards for the restaurant and assisting with new objectives
- Supporting product, menu and recipe development
- Assisting with ordering and inventory
- Ensuring the kitchen is run according to health and safety regulations - giving necessary safety, hygiene and sanitation training to other staff members as needed
- Ensuring proper handling of equipment and utensils - training staff as needed
- Performing routine checks on opening, closing and cleaning duties and checklists to see they are completed fully and to standards
- Co-ordinating ordering, mise-en-place, and task/assignment delegation ensuring production is on schedule
- Following FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshness
- Working closely with cooks to ensure daily operations run smoothly and all food quality standards are met
- Assisting with training
- Other duties as assigned
NOTE: The Chef de Partie takes over all responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef.
What we would like you to bring to the kitchen:
- EXPERIENCE. You've got 3 – 5 years of high-volume experience as a Senior Line Cook and/or CDP with clear and upward growth toward management.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING. You’ve graduated with a culinary degree/diploma. It’s possible that school wasn’t your thing, but you’ve got the equivalent to a college education through a combination of education and experience.
- PASSION. You have a genuine passion for food and a drive to create.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS. You demonstrate exceptional relationship-building and communication skills among your team members at the restaurant.
- ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- PERSONALITY. You’re humble coupled with a good sense of humour.
